Quaker #WarmWelcome

For over 100 years, the Quaker® brand has been warming Canadian families with bowls of hot, delicious oatmeal so they can have a good start to their day.

As a brand with a long history of supporting local communities and those who are in need, Quaker® understands that for some, not being able to get warm can be a barrier to a good start.

Many newcomers to Canada have never experienced a cold Canadian winter, and with half of all newcomers identifying as in-need, many will be without the essentials to stay warm this winter!

This year, the Quaker® brand will be warming Canadians from the inside, out. With the purchase of specially-marked Quaker products, you can help give the gift of a warm winter coat to a newcomer in-need.

Providing winter coats will help to alleviate one of the biggest obstacles that a newcomer to Canada has - enduring the cold conditions of their first Canadian winter.

The Quaker brand has a proud history of supporting both local communities and Canadians in need. This campaign is simply an extension of these efforts. We have partnered with local settlement agencies to help identify families that they feel need our support the most. We know that one of newcomers’ biggest concerns is our harsh Canadian winters. The #WarmWelcome program lends a helping hand to newcomers as they face their first winter in Canada.

Coats will be distributed through settlement agencies that have an established relationship with newcomers in Canada.

With the help of Canadians, it’s our goal to donate $350,000, which will help us provide over 7000 coats to newcomers in-need.

PepsiCo Foods Canada employs 5,000 Canadians who are united in our commitment to supporting the communities and neighbours where we live and operate. We achieve this through national charitable partnerships, employee volunteerism and philanthropy. We strive to support Canadians in need in three ways: building strong communities, nourishing Canadians and preserving the environment. Through our annual Employee Giving Campaign, our associates have donated approximately $1 million to registered charities across Canada, with donations matched dollar-for-dollar by the global PepsiCo Foundation. Through our annual Employee Volunteer Campaign, our associates have volunteered thousands of hours with community-based organizations across the country. PepsiCo Foods Canada is also a proud partner of Food Banks Canada, donating 7.2 million pounds of food since 2006, with an additional $50,000 in-kind donation in Fall 2017 to support Canadians in need.
